It's Monday! What are you reading? 9/17/12

I am currently reading Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs. I participate in a children's/young adult literature book club for staff members at my school. This book is our October pick. The unusual vintage photographs captured my attention right away but the story line is haunting and fascinating.

Thank you to Jen and Kellee at Teach Mentor Texts for hosting this fun meme!

  1. That was a very strange book (in the best way). I wasn't a big fan of the ending, but I did enjoy reading it.

  2. I just loved this book when I read it and part of the reason why is the haunting feel it has to it, although I did feel that sometimes the storyline was forced to fit the pictures. Have you felt that yet?

  3. I tried, but could not get into that book. Maybe I need to try again. As I have learned with Daughter of Smoke and Bone, sometimes books need a second chance.

  4. I want to read this one too. Like you, the cover has caught my interest. Curious to see what you think as you get further along!

  5. I haven't read this one or even heard of it, however great idea to read same book as staff reading lit group. Our staff are not big enough for that but do love the idea she says slightly envious.
